All our physicians have completed medical school at well-rated institutions, before post-graduate training in Internal Medicine, as well as sub-specialty training in Kidney Diseases & Hypertension. Our doctors are board-certified in their specialties. We are trained to effectively diagnose and treat all inherited and acquired kidney conditions, as well as provide dialysis care, transplantation services, and control severe arterial hypertension.

Our experts have contributed to our present knowledge of kidney diseases by completing groundbreaking basic research, writing medical books/chapters, and publishing scientific papers on kidney diseases. We encourage both direct 1:1 clinical care as well as clinical research. That way, we remain at the forefront of new knowledge in our respective fields.

Our staff is dedicated to comprehensive kidney care. We offer free educational seminars to all members of staff, and sponsor others to national conferences on kidney diseases. At Athens Kidney Center, training is a continuous process. Each day, we all learn from one another. Each day, we perform better at our chosen task.

We provide in-center dialysis care at all our campuses in Athens, Madison and Commerce. Each facility is under the management of an Administrator and a Director of Nursing. All our specialists “round” regularly at those facilities.

Patients are encouraged to consider kidney transplantation as an option for permanent kidney failure. After full evaluation, such patients are referred to our surgical transplantation affiliates at Medical College of Georgia, Emory University or Piedmont Hospital. Each transplant program is nationally credentialed, and post-surgery care is carried out in concert with the primary transplant team.

We provide clinical care to all our patients 24/7. Routine office hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. We “round” daily on our hospital and dialysis patients, and we are only a phone call away in emergencies.
